For de fleste udlændinge er vietnamesisk et svært sprog at lære. Det er en tonesprog, der skrives med latinske bogstaver, men desuden angives toner med en række accenter. Sproget er meget forskellig fra dansk, og uden at kende udtalen kan man ikke sige noget forståeligt. Det er en fordel at medbringe en parlør, men det kræver en stor indsats at lære korrekt udtale, og gøres bedst med en vietnamesisk lærer. Selv om alle vietnamesere forstår hinanden, er der forskel på såvel udtale som ordforråd i nord og syd.

Audio CD + book 268 pages (April 1, 2004) 270 kr. - This is a comprehensive course in spoken and written Vietnamese and a practical course that is both fun and easy to work through. The course structure means that readers can work at their own pace, arranging their learning to suit their needs. A reader from Albany, NY, 1999: I travel to Vietnam quite a bit for my firm, and I decided to pick the book/tapes up. I spent about 30-45 minutes a day going over the material for about a month and a half before I had to go back to Vietnam. I had only gotten past a few lessons and had no confidence in my abaility (espicaly with the tones). However, once there I was able to get people to understand me for basic things such as hotel, resturant and so on. I think the book does a good job of introducing usefull grammar and vocabulary. I think if you really want to study the language for more than travel, you should find a native speaker to help practice the tones. Also, the size of the book makes it easy to take with you and there are lots of drawings to break up the text. |
