Têt 2009 - Year of the Ox/Buffalo
We're now officially in the Year of the Ox. That's technically a water buffalo in Asian terms but 'ox' sounds so much stronger, right?
Water buffalos are beloved work animals in Vietnam. They're often featured in Viet artwork and make people smile with nostalgia for peaceful times.

To welcome the year 2009, Year of the Buffalo, the 2nd sign of the Chinese zodiac, Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) issues the stampset: "Year of the Buffalo"
- Value 2,000d: featuring the strong male-buffalo to symbolize the support of every family.
- Value 9,000d: featuring the female-buffalo with her buffalo calf to symbolize the growth and prosperity of spring.
